Beyond the Court: Building Friendship - OLIVA
As I grew up, from being a kid, I could spend hours playing outside with my friends, but now this gang has become a close-knit group working together to play basketball. The more I play basketball the better my technique becomes, and I also make more lasting friendships while enjoying the game. Competing gives me that adrenaline rush, helping me to be more confident on the field so that one can show off his or her skills.
During practice sessions and games, I have learned how and when to make decisions, when to join forces together with other players, how to discipline myself, and how to be tough. Besides, it has taught me to handle pressure and concentration under challenging situations. Whether it is last-second shooting or a crucial free throw, I have developed the mental aspect in myself, which can be carried forward into other aspects of life.
